Elijah, more commonly known simply as Eli, is Nathaniel's only living child. Once a young man living during the reign of Charles I, Elijah grew up feeling very close to God, and desired to become a priest. Studying at the university, Elijah become acquainted with a man who claimed he'd once seen the face of Jesus. This man, of course, was Nathaniel. The vampire befriended the boy, desiring for a companion of his own. He tricked Elijah into meeting him one night, and turned him into a vampire as well.

At first, the two were inseperable. However, at one point when Joshua had cornered Nathaniel, he was forced to leave his "son" behind. Elijah wandered lost and alone throughout the world, and eventually went mad. By the next time he encountered his sire, his devotion had turned to hatred, and the two found themselves enemies. And ever since Nathaniel's return from Purgatory, Elijah is more determined than ever to cause pain to his sire.
